So that car is almost older than you are, isn't it Jeff? I guess we are all turning into antiques. It is nice to see something old made new again. Keep it up. ;D

Looking good! Shore is clean.

I shined up the Thunderbird today and took a few photos of it over in Steve and Jill Dagger's driveway. I do like my car. smiley_smug01

The Woodmizer orange in the background just makes a nice looking car look better. :)

Jeff

Maybe blue would be more appropriate for a Ford?

Hey Jeff, how do you like the 390's power?
How about the fuel consumption?  ;D
My '76 F250 has a 390 in it. Its fairly consistent mileage wise, usually right around 6-8  smiley_alcoholic_01

This 390 runs really good, but it seems to be lacking something. There has to be something I can do to wake up the power in this one that I know they are capable of. Tammy's dad had a 390 in a lte 60's early 70's pickup and that thing was a screamer.   Fuel mileage? Yup, I think you are about right. :D

As much as I hate to admit it, the blue background looks best  :).

Not trying to cross threads here....but everyday, I feel more and more like, if Jeff's car ever got gone,
I don't think anybody lives far enough away from Michigan.

Hey Boss, ever thought about an alarm system in you car?

SPIKER

Jeff you should be able to get about 12 to 14mpg out of the old Bird with old gears/auto trans.   Might be able to get the carb cleans up and rebuilt, put a spacer under it if there is hood room, (put some clay on top of the air cleaner and slowly close hood to see how much room ya have.

the next would be a set of headers and a cam with Aluminum intake.   pulling heads and having them ported (easy to do I have done 4 engines so far.)   My old 400cdi Merc Cougar XR7 would run 12.3 in 1/4 mile 132 give or take a bit, (4200 lbs of steel.)    It is bored 0.030 over with eldebrock cam & dual plane Aluminum intake port matched to the Cleveland 351 Heads.   I never could find a set of headers for it back in the day but a set of Tornio exhaust Manifolds fit pretty good, with 2.5" X pipe dual exhaust.   I had some 3.0 rear gears in the 9" rear and C6 auto that I put a shift kit into it.   One of these days I'm going to have to get the old boy out of the back barn & try & do some resto work on it...
