How could I not notice that my T-Bird was missing the Automatic transmission kick down rod? No wonder it seemed to be lacking on lower speeds. I've not been using first gear all this time! Now to find one.

My car is not a 64, its 65 or is it wimbleton white, its metallic maroon, but other than that, it is virtually the same car as rendered in this video.  I'll be taking better care of Hoopty than they do these cgi t-birds.  But WOW!

Shout out for a auto body guy that still knows how to do old school work at an honest price. Buddy Signs owner of Bump and Grind.

Hoopty had a small area of rust right above the fender skirt on the drivers side when I got her. It aggravated me every time I looked at it. I had took it to the shop last year where we usually take the vehicles when tammy hits a deer to get an estimate and about passed out when he quoted me a price, plus he wanted me to source the metal patch panel to do the job at an additional cost of a couple hundred more.

This year I thought of Buddy.  Or somebody did. I stopped out there and I'm glad I did. He got Hoopty in right away and did the work for less than one sixth of the cost the popular bolt on new parts shop wanted. He matched the beautiful metal maroon paint perfectly after making his old school in metal repairs. Very happy to have Hoopty's blemish fixed!

Good Job.  Hoopty is shining like the T Bird that it is.   8)

I can watch Jeff's vid on my lap top while the lap top is on my lap.  ;D
Turn the volume up and when the T-Bird goes by, my whole chair vibrates.  :D
True story....try it.

So, Hoopty is now at the paint Doctor to get some minor blemishes fixed up and to do a little facelift, and I'm still struggling with what I want to do. I had some photoshop renderings of a white stripe, that was okay, but I personally thought it was to much. I want the girl to stay classy, but still be a bit more sporty, so, I got the idea of some stripes that are the same color, only darker, pin stripped with gold.  Hod do you guys think this looks. I need to come up with a plan by next week, as the that is when my painter will probably be ready for this step. What do you guys think of this?   One thing about using photoshop. Nothing is set in stone until its real paint. :)

That is sorta the scheme that I used when I painted the '91 Toyota truck.  Grey over grey and it looked nice.  I used white over maroon on the Bronco which did not work.  Maroon over maroon would have been much better.  Subtle yet eye catching.  It was about the same color as your T Bird.
