A lady just called me to check on the cost of sawing out a shed for her.  She said that her neighbor just had a completely built 12x40 wood building with doors and windows delivered , pre built and set on her lot for $5800.  That does not seem possible.

I needed a shed in a hurry last year so we went to the local Amish shed builder place, quite a set up, kinda like an assembly line. We paid $3200 for a 12x20 - delivered. The price per square foot went down as the size went up.

What did that include?  Sides, doors, windows, floor, etc.?

I also have recently bought 2 Amish made sheds, (for 2 locations). That price is possible for sure. Mine included 3 windows, a 5' double door, floor, steel roof, entry ramp, even was stained, and delivered on a real neat trailer. Mine were only 8x12 for $1095 but as said above larger sizes cost less per sq. ft.
The trailer the non Amish delivery man used had a battery powered hydraulic system, He just got in the general vacinity and let the trailer work it's magic. The tongue extended about 8', the bed swung to correct the angle, a double set of axles at 90 degrees under the deck lifted the deck and main axles off the ground and he could hydraulically run them in either direction. Then he had a powered deck to run the shed off the back exactly where we wanted it. It got my interest so much that I looked one up one the web, I lost interest when I found that they ran $32,000+ for a 102" x 24'. I decided I didn't need one that bad. He must deliver a lot of units to justify that investment.
