only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

Shucks, just when I was about to guess, "a ball of deep fried grits."
Since I retired I really like work: It fascinates me. I can sit and look at it for hours.

The recipe is not much different from Jeff's stuffing ingredients.  Flour, cornmeal, egg, onions, peppers, and sometimes a bit of creamed or whole kernel corn.

Probably originally it was a way of using the leftover cornmeal. etc. after the fish were coated and frying.   ;D

We've ate hushpuppies since I was a kid. I never considered them a southern thing, but perhaps I ate them because my mom was from southwest West Virginia. :)

Closest thing we had as kids was fried left over oat meal.   Pretty good hot with maple syrup.
