Special day. Received several happy birthday wishes from forestry friends, then spent a while installing hi-rise toilets in the ladies rest room at church. Same ladies who more than once kept me fed when the wife was bed ridden. They had a problem, I responded. I owe them big time. Wife made me a pecan pie for lunch, I ate half of it at one sitting...Did get in an after-lunch nap.  :

Went to the Hampton National Cemetery today with my MIL and wife. My FIL and wife's brother are both buried there. We go there each year on Memorial Day.

I'm going to take a 15 minute chopper ride, a three hour car ride, stay in the hotel a couple hours, go take a physical, come back to the hotel for a few more hours,go to the airport, fly for 21 hours, take another 3 hour car ride and then I'll be home. Heck of a commute back and forth to work. Good thing I only do it once a month.

In the morning I'm taking the Bobcat and auger to NCMC, the local community college, to auger holes for trellis posts and grape vines for their new vineyard which is part of the larger viticulture/ enology program their developing  8) 8) 8) 8)

They're using a mix to see what lasts/works best.  There will be some natural white cedar, pressure treated pine and I think a vinyl product.

Took about 30 seconds to shave it off, now I got a nice shinner black eye
Won't hear from the lab report for another day or 2.
Standing up on the mill bunks today, working on an overhead light. Foot slipped off the bunk and I wound up in the sawdust under the mill.
got a goose-egg on top of my head and a skinned arm. DrB advised against anyone over 50 climbing ladders, guess standing on mill bunks is OK :

I'm sitting on the beach watching my kids play. We just finished eating supper; King Crab legs, Shrimp and G-R-I-T-S,and Cheese G-R-I-T-S. I am very happy Southerner right now!
