Got a facebook that tooth paste would clean the plastic lense on a headlight. I thought there wouldn't be any difference with my display on my woodmizer. I guess the internet does have some good. I use regular Colgate toor paste.

Great job. If it's on the internet, it has to be true.  ::)

I've always suspected that was true and now that I've read in on the internet I know it IS true! 8)

Back in the day of the curved plastic chrystal on watches, we used tooth paste to polish the plastic and smooth any scratches.

Toothpaste being mildly abrasive is what does it!

TurtleWax and a good buffing wheel now that you have taken care of the initial scratches will do you wonders.  I have done this to countless vehicle headlights that were neglected for years and they come out like new.  The key is a little wax goes a long ways just take your time and use very light pressure. Several coats of wax and buffing may be needed.  It also works on snowmobile and motorcycle goggles and visors.  Other cheaper waxes don't work nearly as well as TurtleWax.
