Which would be better for having around the log truck? Guy has a 28volt impact, 28vt sawzall, 28volt hammer drill regular 28 volt drill and 2 28 volt skill saws , 4 batterys and 2 chargers all nearly new and all milwaukee for 450 bucks. Guess i will grab them for that and sell what i don't need!

Is one brushless? If so, that one. Brushless motors are much stronger.  Lithium ion batteries need proper maintenance to last, just something to keep in mind.

I've had a 28 volt Milwaukee set for several years, and have been extremely pleased with it.  The torque on the 28V impact is impressive - much more so than the 20V models.  Usually I toss it in my truck (F450) when I'm making a cross country trip with atrailer (in case I get a flat).  Beats the heck out of humping on a lug wrench!  I don't think that it would remove the lug nuts on a logging truck though...

For all around construction and electrical work around the farm, the 20V sets are nice because they are smaller and lighter.  But for a true workhorse, the 28V is hard to beat.

The newer Milwaukee tools with the Lithium Ion batteries come in two "flavors": the ones which say "Fuel" on them are the brushless motors, which are more energy efficient (your batteries last longer) and have higher torque.  They are more expensive, but you can really notice a difference on the tougher jobs.

Dom, how do you mean 'maintenance'?

I just bought the 18 volt 1/2" impact it works good not as good as air but it's impressive. I also have a couple of Milwaukee 18 volt grease guns the kick Lincoln and alemite  cordless grease guns a$$, the batteries last longer and they pump 10000 psi.
