Lucas 618 and Nyle Kiln
« on: October 13, 2014, 12:14:42 PM »
The time has come to sell my Lucas 618.   I am going to have to go to something a little less manual due to a bad shoulder.  Besides, I really don't use it as much as I should.

It is a 2004 or 2005 model.  The hour meter quit working soon after purchase, but I feel confident that it has less than 500 hours on the mill.  I think I have 6 blades (3 or 4 with new teeth).  I also have a retipping jig.  Comes with sharpener, extentions, etc.  The mill runs fine and has been kept up-to-date with all service.  I will be happy to demonstrate, and I will be happy to provide pics if needed.  Price is $ 7200.00.

I am also willing to sell my Nyle DH kiln.  I think it is the L200 (up to 4000 bdft of hardwood capactity).  I have it set up in a room that will handle about 2000 bdft.  I have dried 3 loads of lumber, yes, just 3 loads.  You are buying the DH unit, controller and circulating fans only, as the chamber is part of my shop.  Price is $ 3000.00.

I will pay 5% of selling price to the FF.

Equipment is located in SW Georgia.

I have read, understand, and agree to the terms of posting an ad on the Forestry Forum.

Bird-marker,

You have been scarce.  Customsawyer has been deliberating on a kiln.  Might be just what he wants.

I have been scarce.  Ever since we moved across town, we have had foot-dragging internet.  I generally check out a few posts without logging in.

Kiln is sold pending pickup and my getting out there and getting everything unhook.

Thanks Customsawyer.

Mill is still for sale.  Had some interest, but that fell through.  Also, I have 7 blades, not 6.

I have a Lucas 618 myself but I could use a couple more blades.  Do you have a price on just a few blades?

Sorry That I am just now getting around to replying.  I have been on the road a lot lately and just now noticed your question.  I think I would rather hang on to the blades and sell as a unit.  Again, very sorry to just now be checking.

There being no takers on the mill and lots of recent logs showing up, I have decided to keep the mill.
