in the bangor paper it said they have 53" of snow on the ground. tiring the record from 1969. i remember the winter of 69. there was snow enought in late oct to snowmobile on almost all of nov  then through to mid April. there was a house that the snow drifted high enought that someone rode there sled up to the second story window

My father said they opened the roads around here with a D-8 in '69. There was a lot of fence building done that spring. :D

I just took my lawn mower in for service today. Hope the lawns don't get away from me. Guy said 10 days 2 weeks. That's 4 inches of grass but I figured it is winter and everything slows down a bit.

Rode the bike to the Florida State Fair Saturday. In a T-Shirt 8)  [not much of a State Fair unless you like rides IMO] your mileage may vary.
Sunday we sat outside and watched this guy dance on the grill

Yesterday was cold. Got down to 63 so I turned the central heat on and had the fireplace blazing.
It's strawberry season here by the way

Another 12-24" will not help in the woods at all. Time to get the loader out to the barn for the weekend. I'll have to push some banks back in a couple driveways and fill the fuel tank. Hopefully this will be the last real big one, but I may be wrong about that.

Trying to get more wood into the house before the next round of snow.  Most winters it's just a simple fill the lawn trailer and drag the wood into the basement behind the ATV.  Not so much this winter...

Never did put railings on the front porch, this winter we really don't need them.

Looks like a big job. Will you post some pics on how you go about that? Maybe putting that wheelbarrow to work along a narrow path from the woodpile to the porch?

Or.. a bigger path and bigger equipment? ;D

Yeah, I've got a good sized tractor but it's got a little snow on it...

Tractor is hooked up to my Hakki Pilke 1x37 wood processor so I don't use it on the driveway.  Probably should have moved it on one of the last 5 or so times I plowed the driveway!  I moved some bankings with the towns Komatsu WA320 the other day when I stopped for dinner during the snowstorm (nice to have your house on the plow route).  But as you can see, it's still a mess!

I'll try and get some photo's with my junior assistant tonight.

Has anyone on here ever cut in 5+ feet of mealy snow I'm kind of worried if we get the 2ft they are talking about if the skidder will even go in it it has a hard time now. I guess worse comes to worse I will have to have my grandfather bring over one of his dozers and plow me some roads

Maine logger, were in the same boat here in Columbia Falls. 3 feet in the woods with 2+ feet on the way. We may have to shut down a couple days.  We may have  to sit on these and watch it settle a little.

Make sure you know how to fall properly when you fall and as to not hurt anyone around you.
Also remember, it's not the fall what hurts, its the sudden stop. !!
