Couple months ago my pc quit remembering things like passwords, what file i was just in, lost my icon pictures things like that.

For instance I use MS Access a good amount during the day. Used to be if I closed out of it the next time it would remember the last files I had open so all I had to do was click on them and I was back in.
Another example is the other forum I visit. Used to be when I went in it would only show new threads or threads that I had earmarked to watch. Now it shows all threads like I am new.

It has been suggested that there is a file missing or gone bad in my PC that remembers things like this.

Windows 7 pro, Firefox although because it is also happening in windows programs and doesn't necessarily have to be a fire fox issue.

Any ideas?

My advice on aging gracefully... ride fast bikes and date faster women, drink good tequila, practice your draw daily, be honest and fair in your dealings, but suffer not fools. Eat a hearty breakfast, and remember, ALL politicians are crooks.

You may have checked some option to clear all history when you exit from the browser. I don't know where to find it, but that's my guess.

When my granddaughter is here and she uses my computer, she always erases her history as she has been taught when using the public computers and it causes all sorts of problems when she does that.

Some people do that also so you can't see which sites they visited. You aren't hiding something are you Bill?

Don't have anyone really to hide anything from now that wildbill's on the FF :D :D

It does save my internet history but I have to put in passwords every time even if I click remember the password.

Bill, if you are using Firefox, look up at the top for Tools, then Options, then Security. Under security there is a box to check for remembering passwords. Well at least there is on Windows XP.
