Very nice design!  I like that. The maple looks like it's flamed.  I reckon that bowl hinges on being a segmented bowl. That should sell well.  What did you finish with?

Thanks Dan, But I have to admit I just do what the wood tells me. As for my skill level, well would you believe I just started doing this a little over 2 years ago. What I do isn't that much differant than you guys getting great lumber out of a saw mill. You have to be able see inside the log before you start cutting.

Charlie. This is the second one i did along those lines. I have pics of one that I did out of curly ash with walnut stripes. I'll have to root around on the puter and find it after work today.

Thsi one has 3 coats of watco danish oil on it. It then got 2 light coats of deft semi gloss, then I apply johnsons paste wax with 0000 steel wool and  buff it off before it drys.
