after checking my saw im sure the hard starting lies in the throttle/trigger control. the butterfly only stays open sometimes on fast idle position. most of the time the butterfly closes on fast idle and will not open at all if I go from choke to fast idle. theres a little slack between the handle back strap that holds the control lever in place.theres too much slack between the trigger and control switch to keep pressure on the linkage that goes to butterfly.the saw has very little use so im not sure why its so sloppy. the handle backstrap or cover was replaced by a new stihl oe cover due to a small crack in it  a few years ago.im not sure if that's some of the problem or not.

Check the linkage and, check the ignition system.  Namely for rust.  God Bless
