The Duetz engine in my Bell feller buncher has a miss. I have had the heads redone, injectors checked. But still it misses on the cylinder farthest from the fan. When I crack fuel lines it makes no difference in the sound when I crack that No. 4 line, But it makes a big difference when I crack any of the others. Has anyone ever taken one of the plungers out of the injector pump? I'm thinking that plunger isn't putting enough pressure to the injector at the head. ANY help on this would be greatly appreciated.

You could have a broken spring in the injector pump for that plunger. That could be a Bosch pump. If you have never did those before it might be a good idea to take it to someone who knows about them. I had 3 broken springs in my Simms pump and a leaking seal. The pump had to be completely disassembled. Someone had put the wrong springs in my pump to start with. The Simms pump is a fairly simple pump, some get real complicated real fast.

Not a job for the shadetree mechanic.  Find a good diesel injection pump shop.

When I crack the lines at the pump there is a lot of fuel at every line...I'm thinking the miss is still in the head...wonder what else could cause it?

I will check that thank you...Also the belt break safety switch don't flip my fuel colenoid so it will start.. I can take a rope and tie it open and it starts right away...this worked good till I re did the heads wonder what the heck is going on?

When the heads and valves were done and it's pumping fuel, you would think the problem is somewhere else ?

Have you done a compression test  ?

It's kinda hard to tell with not hearing it, but it could be a scored piston too.  When they run hot, it's always the one cylinder furthest away from the cooling fan, what let's go first.   It gets the least amount of air.
Make sure you know how to fall properly when you fall and as to not hurt anyone around you.
Also remember, it's not the fall what hurts, its the sudden stop. !!
