Thanks JJ!

Good thing I have a lathe.  Now to source a piece of stock of sufficient hardness...

Found this 27 ton Troybilt log splitter with Honda engine on CL recently.
Older model but nice condition and one owner. Starts 1st pull and 1/2 the price of a new similar size splitter.
Have run a couple cord through it and all it needed was a fix to the reverse function, was kicking out early so removed the hand lever and spun that cylinder 180* and works right now. Bargain

A fitting post to revive this thread. I started this thread posting a little 2hp B&S water pump (9 years ago!). I eventually got it going and used it a lot during concrete and stucco work on the cabin years ago. Always a bit of a pain to get started. Been thinking I need a replacement for when I'm doing burn piles.

So this showed up today (for FREE)

Honda GX150 and a 50 gallon tank. He said the engine was froze up. He wasn't sure if it was the engine or the pump so he cut the v-belts smiley_thumbsdown

Any how, I could turn it over with a pipe wrench but still wouldn't loosen up. I pulled the head and found it full off rusty carbon and a raised but not stuck valve. Just junk under it. Also, the carb was all gunked up. Crank case oil was fresh.

Cleaned it up and it runs great! Need to buy some belts and put an end on the hose. It has a pressure gauge and a three way valve that delivers to the hose or tank. I think that is used to adjust the pressure.

Probably add some wheels and a hitch so I can tow it with my ATV. Maybe put a QA plate on it and use my tractor?
