I wish I could send some rain you're way.
My mill yard has only dried out completely for around 5 days this summer. Record amounts of rain here. Right now it's so sticky out around the mill I gotta be careful to not lose my boots.

Still here this morning. Looks like the forward rate was stopped at sunset and there is no wind today. 10 % containment. Cheers to all.

Here's hoping it stays away and they get control of it with no wind.

Did they let the arsonist out of jail, or is it a family tradition?

Rob, I hope you avoid the fires.  Unfortunately, your climate is much drier than ours.

I saw a couple, one which was quite large, at work today.  One was really rolling, not sure if it was started by lightning or what.  Thankfully, it started raining not long after and seemed to not be too much of an issue by the time I went by it an hour later.  Prior to the rain, I could see the dark smoke from several miles away when I went out to get my tackle out of the boat due to a fishing trip being cancelled because of weather.  Most of what we have burning down there is Cogan Grass.  It burns very hot and often kills the pines, including longleaf.

Rob how far away are those photos? Hope everything is ok today?

The pics are from my front yard with the fire at about 2 miles away. Almost no wind yesterday with a MASSIVE air/ ground response had it under control by sunset. Dodged another one,,,phew.

Sorry to hear that. Svart Ole was a member that I used to follow as he had some interesting adventures, and posted about what he and another old friend would do to "stay out of trouble".
