Standard Goat Unit SGU is the abbreviation for STANDARD GOAT UNIT. This is a measurement of value or currency.

1 (one) SGU is equal to $300. The origins of the events leading to the creation and acceptation of the term are shrouded in secrecy, but it is thought that the story was documented in detail for posterity and buried along with several Throttle Position Sensor's in a post hole then filled with goat excrement.

UPDATE:
A plan was hatched recently to recruit volunteers to conduct an expedition in search of this historical stash. The plan was stalled soon after due to an unprecedented lack of interest.

The first known use of the term was used in a topic on the Forestry Forum titled The Wide Board Club.
