Last time I flew, I used a piece of rope for a belt so my pants wouldn't fall down when they asked me to hold my arms up to do the spin x-ray scan. And after the scan, I got my regular belt out of my computer bag and put it back on. My wife said I was crazy to do such a thing but it worked for me, and I didn't set off any alarms.
