I hate to see Wood-Mizer taking the rap on this situation when it actually falls squarely on the selling dealer's shoulders.  It seems obvious to me that they rushed through the dealer training and made a few cursory cuts instead of taking the time to do the proper training.  Had that been done, the engine would have surely idled for a while and the improperly adjusted components would have made themselves known.

I am reading that the dealer/technician actually ran the sawmill and widetrackman never received any hands on training.

This is the Mississippi Wood-Mizer dealer and I have never used this dealership for any of my services.  I have only talked with them on the phone one time.

I sure don't want to use the word "served" or "under" so I will say I spent a little time "being lectured to" by some UN globalist type in Panama.  This dude had more tin on his uniform than any combat Admiral would ever earn and as far as I knew his home country back in Africa hadn't been in actual combat since WWII.  We feared if he fell into the canal we would have to go and save his drowning butt as the weight would drag him under.  Anyway, the WHO very much reminds me of his type, a little bit of self claimed authority and suddenly they know what is best for everyone.  This was back in the day when command would make a call and things got resolved pretty quickly without giving a DanG about hurting someones feelings.  Not so much today it seems.

Do you have hard water?  Is the stove water conditioned?  My guess is mineral build up between the plates has restricted flow.

It's more difficult to get good timbers out of oak, and hardwoods in general. For me, boxed heart is preferred. If it's what you have, then that's what you use.

Outdoor furnace  about 17 years old.  sidearm water heater quit working.  Until now have used it year around.  Heats water a bit but not enough to be useful.  In the past had all the hot water we could use.  Talked to dealer who had no idea what happened. Anyone else have this happen?

Most the red oak I've sawn seems to attract mold faster than any other species.   Is anyone using it in timber framing with good success, and if so how do you prevent mold growth?  I feel like making a timber frame (even a small one) would be silly if the woods just gonna rot away on you.  It's the most readily available logs to me, and it is free which is great, but I don't want to go build something that won't last long.

Finally put the walnut that I salvaged last fall on the mill.It has a crotch on one end that should have some pretty wood.Cut down past the sapwood and had to use my tractor and a magic hook to turn it 180.Made a couple more cuts and got one pretty nice 1" board. Will probably cut the rest into 2" slabs to maybe use for some benches or something.Going to start with a new blade and hopefully have some help to carry boards into shed.Don't get much walnut and want to make the most of this one.24" wide and I hope mill will clear without trimming the sides.

Quote from: Stephen1 on Yesterday at 08:02:37 AMAnd that 75k pick up truck like the one  I bought 2 years ago just cost me $1000 for a new LED Tail light instead of $5 for a 357 bulb. 5 recalls so far on my truck and I expect more. You might be wishing you could adjust the timing instead of having to take it back the dealer all the time because they make them so we can't fix them them or maintain them anymore.
That is exactly why I drive a 2003 pickup.
