The Outdoor Board / Re: BIRDS
Last post by WV Sawmiller - Today at 05:47:41 PM We are seeing our share of them here too. My wife just refer to them as "Those little yellow birds"
My grandkids are helping name the bluebirds. So far we have one named "Mellow", "Shakey" and "Bob". I haven't heard yet about the last 2.
My GD thought it was neat when she saw them because there were 5 of them and she is 5. I am sure there is a direct relation, I just don't know what t is. She called earlier today when she was out on an adventure walk with her Dad in Charlotte while her brother was at a friends BD party. Now she is noticing birdhouses. I will get her to help me assemble some when she comes up here again and make one for her to donate to her new school.

Last post by doc henderson - Today at 05:42:30 PMI took measurements and got a plastic tote the proper size. it is a stelite 29 gallon from WM. You will have to get your measurements. I still get a wasp nest in the spring, but after a few disruptions, they figure out to go elsewhere.

Last post by SwampDonkey - Today at 04:49:51 PMThere is a patch across the road here under a butternut tree. It's otherwise a maple grove. The butternut tree looks to have the canker and not doing well. I only find the yellow ones under maples here. We have 2 other kind that grow in softwoods, one is white, the other pink. Those 2 might be the same species.

Last post by rusticretreater - Today at 04:37:45 PMMaryland Gov. Wes Moore said Sunday the container ship that caused the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse in late March will be removed from the Patapsco River channel "within days" as salvage crews plan to refloat the ship on Monday.
There was a video the other day of cutting explosives being used on the trestle pieces laying on top of the ship. Snipped it right up.

Last post by SwampDonkey - Today at 04:23:00 PMBeen a lot of goldfinches here this spring. Never seen many last year. They are eating the dandelion seeds here now. Hard to see them in a sea of dandelion heads.
