After spending weeks telling myself I've got too many things to do around here to go, I made the decision this morning that I'm going anyway.  So I guess that makes me #53?  See you in a few days!

Well, another step closer. Tonight I settled in on the route we will drive. Last pig roast the drive out was fine with a tad of traffic, but the drive back was not as pleasant, especially the last 2 hours. This time I am doing something not exactly intuitive. We will go and hour north before heading west on the NYS Thruway (I90) through Buffalo, to Cleveland and onto to Toledo, then pop around the north loop of Toledo and shoot on home the Harrison. A tad bit longer according to the mapping programs, but my guess is the driving will have less traffic. We'll see.
Tomorrow I go shopping for two more watermelons. Out store only had two left, so now I have to go hunting. I should have got them last week when they had a one yard box full of them. duh.
Hey, anybody else coming that has some walnut they want to sell or swap? I'll take small pieces or just about anything. I can't get my hands on any here. 5% to the FF of course.

Last week Emily and I talked about heading that way tomorrow.  It was a definite maybe.  When it came down to it, it just isn't in the cards.  She's got too many irons in the fire and I don't relish the time on the road alone.

So all y'all have a good time, travel safely and I hope your accommodations are everything you expect!

AW SHOOT! I would have really liked to finally meet you and Emily. I suppose it's too late to arrange hitching up with someone one coming up from deeper in the grits belt, like GA or FL?
Well I do appreciate that you guys thought about giving it a shot, that would have been fun! We'll miss you both.

Well like the title says "It's a GO!" We will hit the road within the hour and stay tonight someplace past the halfway point, Cleveland west maybe?
Be at Hidden hill early Thursday afternoon, set up and check in at the Brokaw's before evening to get a chore list.
We are going to miss those who can't make it or can't return this time. But we will talk about ya! ffcheesy

I hope you guys all have safe travels and I know you will have a great time.

BTW - Tom's post about the watermelons reminded me of when I was a kid in NW Fla in the summers. We'd set up a truck next to a road intersection and sell watermelons. By mid to late summer they were selling for 4 for $1 or sometimes even 5 for $1. That is except when the car pulled up with a New York tag then they were typically about $3 each. ffcheesy Supply and demand was taught early back then and the guys from New York were used to paying those kind of prices or more and probably rode off laughing at how they'd skinned another yokel.

Have fun and don't run out of grits.

Well, shucks, Tony's looks pretty good.

@teakwood -if you see this don't eat lunch, tomorrow, and we'll stop by and eat here!

@Old Greenhorn, If you are coming around the south side of Lake Erie it's up north of Detroit, in Birch Run. I'm aiming to get Ramon around noon tomorrow, so my guess is you'll be there earlier, but text me when you are close and we'll see where we are. Looks to be about 2 hours north of the Ohio Border. Then only a full belly hours worth to the campsite.

I hope we are no longer counting on my real spreadsheet. I no longer have access to it.

I'll be on the road at around 830am after dropping a kid off at tennis. Picking up teakwood around noon or so, in Detroit, probably stopping at Tony's for lunch, and should be to the campsite by 5ish?

I have a couple big boxes of supplies that need to go to @Jeff and I don't know how much help you, Jeff, want on Thursday. Let me know and we can either come over Thursday evening to help set things up or just bring stuff over Friday.

@caveman, not sure of your timeline, your drive is huge. If they'll let you feel free to set up on our site if you get there before us. I think site 32 with Austin.

Hmm... Whack. Maybe we didn't shout out FF.com enough? I'm fairly positive like 40% plus is with us.

Joe called me a couple days ago and asked if he could switch my trailer with a different one due to a family using the one I had. I think I'm probably getting the bump outed one. Ramon is likely sleeping in the living room, I hope that's ok.

Friday looks like it will be the best helping day, or late thursday. Porta potties come sometime tomorrow morning, and I need to mow, and perhaps the dead maple tree we will use for campfire.
