Everybody knows that potholes in the driveway are best patched with chickens.

Lord knows plenty of mine have made attempts at that theory.

Speaking of crazy cat people.  When we lived in Oregon I looked at a ranch in Merrill.  So the realtor, who was the Queen of Spin, is taking me down the ranch lane and we drive right past the entrance to the landfill - that little detail wasn't on the listing - and she says something to the effect of "and the dump is nice and close to drop off your trash".... uh hua..... So we go a bit further and as we are passing the neighbors place the entire side hill starts to move - looked like a land slide and it was heading right toward us.  Not one to miss an opportunity the Queen of Spin calmly says "and the neighbor has a few cats, so the mice are under control".  There had to be hundreds of them, and they have this SUV in their sights.  They had us in a choke point, bottom of the valley, and it gets narrow quick.  It's an ambush!! I am thinking whatever happens, don't get out of the vehicle, if I go down they won't even find bones.  I mean Kingsley Field Air Base is about 20 miles north, but they only have F-15's so I can't even call in a Warthog for close air support, only thing they will be able to do is get some video from 5,000'.   ;D

Needless to say out of fear for my flock - I didn't make an offer on the place.

Southside knows that you would not put cat litter in the driveway, he is just crazy.
He milks cows and has a sawmill..... ;)
Years ago when my wife and I were first married there were rules made regarding livestock on our place. First one is no chickens, second was no pigs.  So there is no practical way to use chicken pavers at our place.  :)

Cat litter works great on an icy sidewalk, of course I prefer it fresh.

FWIW Iíve filled in an acre gully with cat litter (letís just say a small fortune) and chicken house residue over the years but never repaired a driveway with either. My wife has a PhD and is both the hardest working and smartest woman I know but she is crazy about her cats and her chickens.  I donít talk about her hospital and doctor bills from cat bites and scratches.  Right now she is on antibiotics from a cat inflicted laceration that the urgent care super glued on Thursday.  A man has to know his limitations.....

This hardly rates even an honorable mention since no machines were wrecked and no stitches were required but I went to resaw some wide ash boards a couple days ago. I had removed the fuel tank and filled it and several stock gas cans when I went over to the next county where gas is about 40 cents a gallon cheaper. I put the tank in place and noticed the bungee straps seemed tight when I cinched them down and the lube hose kept getting in the way and the end of the fuel line would not reach. I found everything worked much better once I removed it and put it back on over on the other side of the mill where it came from. I had the lube tank off stored in my well house to keep it from freezing and had put the fuel tank up where the lube tank goes.

Don, I think Old greenhorn trumps you :)

He beats me. I only have about 12" but still coming down.

I just pulled the battery out of my sled to charge tonight. Hopefully I can resurrect it and maybe get a ride in this weekend. Lets hope I don't contribute to this thread in the process.

Crusarius, it's not a contest. :D

JJ, never had time, but if I get bored tomorrow, maybe I'll give them a shot and check out the old mill site. They set close to the door, just in case. ;D

FFOTS, around here it's pretty easy.  C'mon up. :D

Ya'll can keep it, don't miss it, don't want any more of it. Moved away from it over 30 years ago, one of the best things I ever did. Don't get me wrong summers are hot hot here, bugs are rough at times.
I guess just pick your evil. I will say it is beautiful when you can be inside by the fire and look outside at it.
