Sweeper Problem

Wife had bought a new sweeper a few months back,the rotating brush stopped turning. So it's rainning and I tore it apart after believeing it was the motor. Pulled the motor out and put 120 volts to it it ran perfect. Reinstalled motor ,leaving it apart I put the sweeper top back on and tried it. Worked perfect put it all back togather and it dosen't work. Did this twice now with the same results,I walked away because I was getting close to HAMMER time. I'll try it again later  :D.

If it's one of those deals where it turns the brush with an o-ring type belt often times the motor drive pulley is slipping on the shaft .Some of them have a spring loaded deal to keep tension on the drive motor which might have lost it's springiness .

They don't make them anymore like those old Kirbys you could spray paint with ,grind a knife or scrub a liniolium floor depending on how many attachments you have .

You buy them any more for a couple hundred bucks use them 3-5 years and get another one .

Have you checked the on/off switch or for broken wire in power cord/plug?

I got it working but not real sure how. So for now I will leave it at that  ;).

When I have problems with my sweeper, she usually beats me with the broom.
