Let me hook you up with a 66 T-bird convertible!  Then if you find a 64 you'd have one from each year of the body design.

Congratulations Jeff, certainly don't make them like that these days.

I know there is no such thing as a stupid question on the FF, but I think I have one. How do you change a flat rear tyre  with the guard covering part of the wheel?  ??? Go easy on me

If you look closely just above the rear tire you will see a gap in the body work. That piece is called a Fender Skirt and removes easily with a lever.

If they are not rusted up. They are in a perfect place for corrosion.  Not that these would be but I've seen many that were.  It would be something to check before you really need to remove one.   Maybe a good place for BlueCreeper. ;)

My brother had a 66' it was a fantastic car.
When you put it in park you could push the stering wheel to the right so you could get out easier.
It also had staged tail lights that would light up in sequence. Very cool car!

A bit of history of fender skirts.  They go back a long way, into the 20's.

I definitely need to find a place to store it before fall. :-\

There was a big deal in town today called the old 27 motor tour. http://www.old27tour.com/  Tammy is working hauling kids, so the neighbor and I went up to see the cars. We parked mine and waled around and ours started getting as much attention as the ones that people were there to see. :)

This old car is something I have needed in my life for a long time. I spent the entire weekend with my hands greasy. ;D   I was a gearhead as a kid, but family needs and such had not allowed me to have an old car to tinker with for probably 30 years.  Yesterday I rebuilt the front electric window motors and gear boxes and made some creative repairs on the drivers door panel that turned out perfectly. I had the console tore out to see how to do it in preparation for changing out the window switches and fixing some other non functioning accessories.  Working on something that does not have to be worked on and finding creative ways to do it is something that is very enjoyably and stress relieving for me. Now if it was one of our other vehicles that was needing fixed because it was broke, that is a different story. That is a stress builder.

That is just a cool car!
Congrats!!
390?
For the year the 390 probabley is the one .Over the 11 different style series  starting with the original 292 engine  and ending with the AJ-35 there has been a lot of changes evolving from competition for  the Corvette to a luxury automobile and finally the last series once again a luxury high price yuppie  mobile .FWIW my name is on the very last two AJ-35s' ever made .

Very nice automobile there .My father had several one with a 460 .My brother has an unrestored '64 .

Shouldn't you be working on that pickup truck tailgate hinge???? ;D ;D  Barely held the pig in, by my recollection.

Nice find. :)
I think you can get insurance through companies like Hagerty's for it instead of adding to your policy.  Especially if you don't put a lot of mileage on it.
The last time I had a car like this it was at a significant savings but that was almost ten years ago.

Yep, restricted classic car insurance is much cheaper.

I have a two car garage with only one car in it now. I won't drive your car too much this winter.  ;)

I'm paying $20 a month for full coverage including the road service and same coverage levels as our primary vehicle. Is that to much?

Personally, I think that is a good price for full coverage plus road service. A real good deal!
