what type of metal is a 026 muffler made out of

Thanks guys a lot of good information.  I like where this post is going.  anybody have a muffler modded 026/260 they could show me.  I am tired of cleaning baked on crud off of where the 026 exhaust exits.  (stupid design in my mind) thinking about putting it right out the front.

You have adjustibility on that 026?

Not a Stihl guy but seem to remember some had fixed high jets?

yep have a high and low carb.  a walbro 22a I think

026 is an older saw, when carbs where still fully adjustable. It's the newer models that have the "anti-tamper" screws.

Some 026 had only a low screw (I have read)

Here is the first muffler mod I did 'bout 7 years back.



It was purty UGLY, but quite effective, since then I lean more towards silver braze than mig.

Both the 026 I have were non adjustable I change both carbs to walbro

One was a 1992 model the other 1994 model
