Empyre gasifier

I worked on an Empyre gasifier today and I noticed that it doesn't seem to be complicated, which surprised me. I have heard many posters talk about solenoids etc on Central boiler gasifiers so I thought that was standard with these types. Can someone who owns an Empyre enlighten me about what is on them and how much cleaning is involved? The one I worked on appeared to have a blower, high limit, controller and light.

Not to say nothing bad,but I always felt those Central boilers had to many switches and solenoids even before they were gasifers.I have looked at the gasifers Heatmor. They look like a simple unit as my non gasifer is. At work the engineers would try to get something to work by itself. Worked good. But when it did not it would take awhile to trouble shoot and get it up and going. Almost like what was gained was lost in down time.

My Central Boiler 5648 8 years old has only one solenoid on it that controls the vent in the front door for draft. No fan either.  Did the older ones have more?

Seem like the ones I looked at about 5-6 years ago had more than that,at least one digital readout, and some sort of keypad too.

This Empyre has a digital controller and it is very pretty but if I had my choice and all it had to do was turn a blower on and off I would prefer old non electronic tech. This one probably does more so it is unlikely you can get away without it. My main complaint about electronic gizmos is the replacement cost coupled with monopoly and obsolescence issues. If it is really cheap, readily available and will be in 15 or 20 years then I am all for it. I can buy any part for my 60 yr old tractors but it is generally not possible to buy a part for a 5 yr old electronic device.
