18 4 26 , 16 9 30 and 23 1 26  tires are hard to find around here too  :)

Well here's my input. We have 3 648s always ran Firestones. Always been good. I feel they round the edges off fast but stay together for 10,000 hours. We put two Samson's on the front of my Glll and have about 1,000 hours on them with no problems. The newest are the primex. On the back of the second Glll. Not many hours yet but I like them. Hard as a rock, bite good, and haven't got a mark in them yet. All are 30.5-32

I use my 664 clark just for firewood in the winter. We do about 100 cord a year. I put 2 Farm tires on mine 2 years ago and had great performance out of them. They are on the front with no chains. I got them through Jay at highway tire in Caribou , Maine. 16-9 x 30 for about  $1600.00 with new tubes. He told me he sells a lot of them to the Frenchmen in northern maine with no problems. Just try and cut your stumps square.

Good luck

Lumbertic We have no ctl just slasher. We wouldn't go that far north either. And would never happen that soon. We keep 1-3 years out on our contracts. Occasionally move in fast but not often. Corley5 is up that way though. And ctl

I have Firestone on the front and primax on the back of both of my cable skidders and have no problem with either. The primax clean much better. The mud packs in the Firestone.
