I buy my gloves through MSC Direct.

I use the long guantlet leather gloves for handling firewood in the winter, the short guantlets for handling firewood in the summer.  I get about 10 chords per pair of gloves.

For chainsaw work I have a pair of Husky chainsaw gloves.  The wear is negligible after a year.  The gloves are extremely comfortable and reduce hand fatigue considerably.  These gloves are worn only when I am operating the chainsaw.  I switch to the leather guantlets for handling the wood or securing chokers.

For most other choirs and handling of lumber I wear the nitrile coated Atlas Fit gloves.  The fit is superb.  I get about two weeks out of a pair before the coating starts to give out.

Good link for tools too. Another one for my favorite folder.

Rebocardo,  Wells lamont makes SUG gloves very similar to the Mechanix gloves for about $13 now.  Much cheaper and nearly as sensitive.

After trying most all of the cheap leather gloves, I finally tried a pair of pigskin gloves from The Dollar Store for $5 and they outlasted them all.

Kentukyboy,

I have to agree with ya there, pig skin seems to be tougher than cowhide leather. The cuffs on a pair of pigskin gloves I have, have worn out while the leather part is still good. ::)

cheers
