I learned and gained excellent grammer skills just by sitting next to fat old elf   Mr. and Mrs. Gab spent a lot of time with me and gave me much needed advice on sawmills, sawmilling, the business end of sawmills.  They stopped by my glass shop on their way home and gave me some of their homeade syrup.  I have a date to play tennis with shotgun this summer.  Mr. and Mrs. Busy Beaver were simply the best and I am glad they won the chainsaw.  There were so many more kind hearted souls that I talked to at the forum but these are just examples.  I wondered a few times since joining if the forum was just to good to be true, but I was treated the same way at the pigroast.  Jeff and his family and all the moderators really do such a good job on that forum to keep it running the way it does.  An now I want to practice my better grammer skills learned by sittin next to fat old elf,,,,,I gotta go now but dont ye worry you"re lil head's off cuz I will RETURN!!!  (actually fat old elf is one of the smartest men I have ever met)      I am looking forward to many more pigroasts.  Thank you, Ed Norman

Actually that stuff that fat olde elf told you was worn out and discarded stuff that I had given him, so in effect it was all recycled.  :D  You did not by chance turn your back on him while he was talking with your wife did you??   :o

cute magicman,
Actually I was warned not to bring her for that very reason :D  You are another one that I could probably use a phone call with.  I have so many questions about developing my new property and adding a bandsawmill.  I couldnt sleep the night before the pigroast, I was the same way opening day of fishing season or hunting season.  It was amazing how far people traveled for this pigroast, it really was quite amazing.  I was a little worried at the pigroast with the axewomen, I wore a pair of shorts and showed my legs off, my wife says that even though I am 61 years old I still have the body of a 60 year old  think she was a bit worried about the axe women runnin off with me :D :D

Gadrock

61?  I had you pegged for a bit more. Nah...all in fun.

But I do not think your wife is worried about some woman running off with you. Perhaps it may be your chasing the Axe Women around.

Now where is that fat olde elf when you need him?  He knew that I would be sawing Monday, so what does he do?  Calls my wife !!  Some kinda excuse about missing us.  :D

I really wanted to go to the pigroast this year but it is rare for me to get the time to get away. Reading all of the posts really makes me wish even more that I could have made it.

kczbest,
Plan on next year, the forum group is even nicer in person.  Magicman, I think there were whispers about foe being a ladies man,,,,,,,,pictures sure tell a story :) :) Every time I was anywhere near him, women seemed to hover.  I wonder if anyone got a picture of busy beavers wife when she won the chainsaw, pure joy and she went a little airborne too.

Glassman, some of us Southerners may have to get together and do a down south version (Northerners could come too :D). With my business interests and two Grandmothers pushing 90 years old I don't get very far from home.

What I remember most from our visits to north carolina was their hush puppies and pork sandwiches, sweet tea and pepsi and hot buns. In the 60's we would go to a barbecue shack and it was wall to wall with picnic tables and they would bring out all the hushpuppies and pork you could eat and their slaw on top of the pork.  Rows and rows of picnic tables in a pole barn, never saw anything like it.  I miss those days,,,
