I blame my Dad for getting me hooked on board games.  Sunday afternoons, especially in the winter, the whole family would get into the board games, especially Aggravation.  Boy I miss those days with the Old Man ...

We didn't play much Scrabble, but lately I've become hooked on Words with Friends.  Besides local friends, I've got games going with people in Lancaster, England, and Israel (via "Smart Match" feature).

Anybody on here play?  Gotta warn ya, I'm very competitive and you don't get any breaks because you're on the FF!   ;D

The kids played lots of games since we don't have a computer or TV. It was nice to see. Good luck with your games.

Aggravation was a big one for us growing up, it seemed like the women folk, namely Mom, and Grandma liked to get me aggravated ;D   Scrabble was my mothers favorite, and she was a good one, she knew all the words that one might think was not a word at all :D
only have a few chain saws I'm not suppose to use, but will at times, one dog Dolly, pretty good dog, just not sure what for yet,  working on getting the gardening back in order, and kinda thinking on maybe a small bbq bizz,  thinking about it,

Never cared much for board games BUT, I was the driver for the Duty Officer, a 1st Lieutenant, one evening in the ARMY. (I was a Spec-4)
He pulled out a game called Stratgo  (sp?)which I had never played. (or heard of!)
It was a war game where you tried to beat the opponent and take their flag.
I beat him 3 out of 3 games and he wanted to quit after that!    :)

Not really a word game, but growing up we did play quite a bit of chess,  never studied the game (technically) speaking, but enjoyed the game,  as I grew older, I ran into some wiz bangers from Europe, one an old Austrian tool maker, the old man (respectfully saying)  schooled me on a regular basis :D

The game we play is Apples to Apples.   It is an interactive card game that gives a group of people a glimpse at how the individuals playing think.   Good for a laugh for sure.

Another one is the Farming Game.   Takes awhile but pretty fun.

I was going to mention the farming game also, had hours of fun with that one but it can take hours.  We also play apples to apples every Christmas with my wife's family.  I'm not much for word games other than maybe bookworm on the computer, but love pitch.
