Maybe someone  else too will benefit from this question. Didn't see it in the WM literature, but that is probably cause I didn't look.  ::) My LT 40 HD has trailer brakes and the emergency lock-up in the event it comes loose on the move. That emergency setup is powered by a battery. Does this battery get charged from the mills alternator or should this be tied into the vehiles chargiing system? Does it even get charged at all?
Thanks
Rick

Heya Rick
If Im not mistaken, the emergency brake battery is charged by the towing vehicle ifn you have the wiring hooked up like it oughta be ;D

Yea,
I went and looked at the book. Doesn't say specifically, but the wiring diagram seems to show a wire coming off the the trailer brake wire. My wondering too was if you sawed in one spot for a while if the sawmill system would charge it too.
Thanks

Good question.  I also wondered about the trailer brake battery.  Couldn't figure it out real easy.  At first I thought it might work off the main saw battery.  But that wouldn't work with the head stowed at the back end of the trailer.

From looking at the manual its still not clear where the brake battery is located.  I'm guessing its in the hydraulic box?  ???  No need to open it just to look.  I'll wait till I need to be in there then I'll check it out.

I did have a problem with the wiring for the electric brake when I first hooked it up.  I use an 7 wire to 6 wire adapter to hook to my truck.  I had to rewire the adapter otherwise the brakes locked up as soon as I started the truck.  Turned out the +12 charging pin and +  volts for the brake 'on'  were reversed.  From researching the web it seems there are 2 different standard 6 wire connector pin-outs and Wood-Mizer picked the one opposite from my 7 to 6 adapter!
Been there, done that.   Never got caught [/b]

The battery for the emergency brakes is in the enclosure that houses the hydralic pump and values on my 2003 LT40HG25. I think that the battery is charged from the vehicle that is towing the mill.

I believe it is charged from the vehicle as well. The question I have, is it hooked into the the brake wire, bnlue, or a separate 12 volt supply. I'm not good at wiring diagrams. The six pin set up I have shows two ways to wire. One with the trailer brakes in the center and the other with the TB in the 10 o'clock position. WM sets it up for the 10 o'clock, but I don't know if that is standard. I re wired mine to have the brake wire in the center. Just seemed logicile ::)
Appreciate the in  put.
