Banging the logs and they sound like fine china.
Froze like a rock. Sawdust freezes instantly on the cant, And if you wait too long, the boards don't move off the cant. :D :D :D :D :D

One thing, the logger I sent to the wood lot is happy with the FREEZE. :D :D

I was experiencing the same thing a couple days ago!  Frozen sawdust to the cant, boards being stuck together like glue...slipping and sliding in the snow all over the place, tractor + mill hard starting, toes freezing numb...but I wouldn't have it any other way.  Warmed up today to a nice, sunny 10*F.  Great day to split some firewood, turn some wrenches, and sharpen blades.  Maybe a little skwerl hunting later on.  Life is good.
