A couple of weekends in late Jan or early Feb (2015), I will be cutting a very basic frame in Red Wing, MN  (in my pretend shop i.e. garage).    The frame will be 10' x 12' with 4 posts (8" x 8"), a couple of short kingposts,  2 plates, and a ridge.  If anyone in the area is interested in assisting and learning basic framing, feel free to drop me a note.

Good to hear from you Jon.

Not likely to do any framing, but wonder how the cabin in northern MN is doing and if you have been able to enjoy some time there.

beenthere,

Things are well! These days, when I go to the Stump Ranch, I spend my time goofing off...plinking with the 357, hiking, and fishing.  If we get some decent snow I will head that way in January to try out the snowshoes, do some ice fishing, and I have about a ton of brush and logs to burn-off (bonfires and beer).

Ordering the timbers this weekend...should start the frame mid January.  Below is the frame that will be cut...   Posts, beams, plates, and ridge are 8" x 8".

Picking up the timbers next week. If you are in the area and interested in learning layout or cutting email me at jon60anderson@gmail.com.  I will be cutting Sat and Sun late Jan; early February.   Raising in the spring at my Son's house. The structure will be closed in as a shed.
