These 2 guys come in to pick up their order.
1 can't hardly walk.....
the other is having open heart surgery tomorrow.

They came in early and ordered 50 Pine 1 x 4's, paid in advanced and came back at 4 pm to pick them up.
They are trying to strip a roof on a mobile home for roofing.

Now the trailer was almost falling apart.....it doesn't look it but trust me.
12 foot long 1x4's on an 8 foot rotten trailer.  :o :o :o

I loaded as instructed and CRUSH.....there goes the tail gate.

The lumber....inches from the ground....the guy puts a red flag on his lumber and makes the statement.....
" I hope the d... Highway Patrol isn't on the road when we leave. Those ...... are nothing but a pain in the ....!"
Now my off bearer is a State Trooper and he was chewing his tongue.  :D :D :D :D :D

I gave the guys a break on the price but they just reminded me of the Odd Couple.  :D :D :D

See video of them leaving. The Jeep could barely get traction. Just one of my days.  :D

Thanks David. Reminds me of a few older guys I knew growing up. The funny part is there wasn't a cop working where I grew up that would have cared. :D

should have checked the road after they left. I see massive tongue wagging due to excessive tail loading.

No safety chain on it either...  my conscience wouldn't have let them leave... afraid of someone being killed or maimed from that load going down or off the road.

Junk iron sellers do it all of the time, so I guess that Redneck lumber haulers can too.   :D

I'd have made them take the front fence off the trailer and slid the whole thing forward a foot.  That's the 2nd worst trailer load of lumber I've seen.  The worst was on a toll highway.  It had wider and larger tires on it than intended.  The weight of the lumber was causing the fenders to push down on the tires and smoke as it cut into the tread.  I just gunned it so I'd be in front of the wreck.

Reminds me many years ago while I was working overseas and planning a trip home. Timbers/planks on our bridge were about shot so my wife bought replacements for me to install while home. She went to the local sawmill about 12-15 miles way about bout 27 2"X8"X12' white oak boards and loaded them on the back of her half ton pick up. Before they finished loading they noticed the front wheels were completely off the ground. They unloaded part and made 2 trips which no doubt still badly exceeded the weight limits especially going the long way home down an 8% grade.

That's just funny, as long as I'm not following him!  I wish I would have got pictures but didn't think about it, I bought some hay from a friend and he (unbeknownst to me) borrowed his neighbors flat bed semi trailer and started hauling it to me.  One tire wouldn't take air but they said oh just run it run it we do it all the time (everything they do and say is 100 mph), directly across the axle the inside tire was a low profile, outside wasn't, and I'm not sure what on the deck was keeping the bales from dragging on the ground, oh yeah he couldn't put air to the brakes because he'd lose all his air so that button stayed out.  How would you like to meet that load going down the road?  :D  This trailer also came from the same guy I loaded at the sale barn once, 18' gooseneck trailer sitting on his spare tire in the back of a little Toyota, threw 6 head of steers on and away he went!  I asked do you at least want them gated in front, nope gotta go gotta go they'll be fine, apparently he made it home with everything  ::).

I'm  trying to get this in my head.Your off bearer is a trouper. He has to deal with drunks, speeders, belligerent people in general all day long. When he gets off he has to deal with the goat, man what was he thinking ? He is either your brother in law or a man that loves to saw.

Looks like another 10 boards and the back wheels of the jeep would be lifted off the ground. So much for tongue weight. :)
