do you have to pull the motor/front end out to get the oil pan off or is there enough room to get it out with out doing all that extra work    thanks

Just drop the belly pan that protects the oil pan. Pete

ok thanks   I found the leak it is in the back part of the motor there is a flat plate between the bell and the oil pan looks like part of the oil pan that's where its leaking from there is a bunch of 9/16 headed bolts will that come off with out taking half the skidder apart  ;D  thanks

I think its called the oil pan plate the oil sump is bolted to it

On my 94 that plate has room to come out. The sump tube has O-rings so it should just side out. Pete

could be part of the pan, on the 76 I run it has a flat pan that runs the length of the block and a sump that bolts to the middle/rear of that, and there is a gasket in between. kind of a 2 piece design I think

here's a trick I learned that worked for me.  Loosen the bolts around the leak area, just enough to pry open a teeny bit.  spray it out with brake cleaner and let dry.  force some right stuff in there with a sharp object and sinch er down.  has worked on some leaks for me.
However, you could end up chasing the gasket all the way around if you pry it open too much cause it can tear the gasket elsewhere.
Just an Idea, might save you time, and if it fails then you were going to pull the pan anyway smiley_thumbsup

you may have to put the machine at an angle to keep the oil away from it as well while you are working

great news    took the belly pan off saw the oil was coming down the side of the block removed the side plate by the blade control and found that the metal oil pressure line had rubbed a hole in it  could not believe that little line would pump a gallon of oil out of it in 2-2 1/2 hours  thanks for all the info guys            coxy
