When I bought my Woodmizer it came with about 50 bands. Some are new some used and all are rusty. I can tell by looking at them at a quick glance they are not all the same. Is there a chart or a way to identify what they are?

Hello KirkD. and welcome aboard. Woodmizer has a gauge that you can get that will give you the degree on the blade.

I was really hoping someone made a chart (printable) that gave more technical details of different bands out there. I can come up with Gauge, Width and Set but  the different Gullets, depth, rake angle, kerf etc is going to be different.

Maybe a printout of different bands and the makers in scale size would be in order.
I would think sharpeners would have something like this to I.D. a band before they put one on a grinder.
Or is it as simple as a chain saw shop would do and know by looking if it was a 3/8 chain or a 404 chisel bit vs. round file etc and I just don't know them well enough to do it yet like I would a chain?

My suggestion is to forget the charts and get this:  LINK

Wright machine tool has a download with simple pics and all of the specs for most blades.
I wouldn't call the pics the best in the world, but along with the specs it was plenty easy to figure out what I needed from them.
Possibly other sharpener companies have the same thing.
