4-53 spin on oil filter

Picked up an adapter to change the oil filter on the 4-53 to a spin on. Got the Baldwin adapter #OB1303, and asked for a filter to go with it. They gave me a Baldwin B96, when I looked on the Baldwin web site they list a B95 as the filter for this adapter on the Detroit Diesel. If I cross reference these filters some such as Fram show the same (PH3612) and some manufactures show different #s. Anybody know for certain if the B96 is the right one?

 I can't help you on the fram or wix, but I know 100% that "1810" is the NAPA # for a 353-453 spin on.

I know that our Timberjack 230D forwarder has the B95 oil filter, it has a 353. Maybe the B96 is for the larger 453?

On the Baldwin web site the B96 shows as being a Cummins filter. I think I better change it for a B95 to be sure.

One is a larger filter. If in doubt look at the dimensions on the Baldwin site.

Baldwin replied today, and the filters are interchangeable, one being longer.
