hudson 228, lucky knuckleboom,stihl 038 064 441 magnum

2308500

7.5  lbs/sq.ft.

onlinemetals has an easy to use weight calculator for most shapes and types of metal.
Stihl 041, 044 & 261, Kubota 400 RTV, Kubota BX 2670, Ferris Zero turn

depends on what type of steel but my says normal sheet steel is 244 pounds

Any steel that thick is called hot rolled plate not sheet and it comes in 7 gauge (0.1793), not 3/16 (0.1875). You can order it in any thickness from 0.1719 to 0.1868 but you may have to buy a truckload to get any specified thickness.

The standard 7 gauge HR weighs 7.5 lbs per sq ft so a 48 X 96 plate would weigh 240 lbs.

so does 50cents a pound sound like a good price

mike_belben

Thats a deal on new sheet which is typically closer to $1/lb

30cents/lb is about right for rusty used stuff from scrapyards.  Thats about double of theyre getting right now on the prepared end after processing.
