So many things came up this summer i was a bit behind on my wood. But finally I am seeing the end of my splitting.
Cant wait for crisp October days stacking it, and bow hunting in the afternoon. I schedule my vacation for this time of year. This is wood for next year so it get a year to season, I actually will begin moving the wood I did last year to the shed near my boiler for the winter. Another long process.

Lucky you! I don't have a single piece split for this season yet... My goal was to get a year ahead and I am a year behind. Been a busy year. I have 12 cord to split over the next month, not going to be fun.

I have been lucky and been able to stay a year ahead for a few years now. luckily i don't usually burn more than 8 cord, more like 6.5 really.  I do 14 cord log length a year. Never get to work steady though, something always happens vehicles to fix, boiler replaced this year, building somthing, making food plots and fields......it goes on and on or its too hot. So i do it in spirts really.

Yea I hear that! Been working on my house all summer... still not done. I still have to cut the air channels out of the 1400 before I even think of lighting that, plus get something to burn. Just started splitting some tonight, but its so wet I don't think I could burn it unless I absolutely had too, pulled 4 face out so far, going to do 4 more Saturday.
