Has anyone resharpened their bands that were 10° to a 4 or 7 on a WM cbn grinder?

I have a box of 10° and was never impressed with them. Just curious if I could change them

I have not done it with mine but was told by WM that you can do it. They actually gave me a used box of 9's to practice on when I got my sharpener and said to make two passes and they will be T7's.

I have some 10's I'm going to change. The man I talked to at WM said that it was doable but would shorten the wheel life.

You can, but it has to be a blade with a similar blade profile... meaning the shape itself.  It it more than just changing the hook angle.

2 passes ??  Sorry, it'll never happen.  You'll burn the capacitor up on the grinder motor trying, maybe worse.

Couldn't make them into WM 4's in 2 passes, even with a wheel specifically manufactured for re-profiling.

Use them up or throw them out. Save your CBM wheel. That's why I gave away the two boxes of 10s I bought for Brunos job.
I only use 7s. :D ;D

I just gave a box of 10° blades to a new sawyer here on the FF.

After an unsuccessful sawing attempt on Post Oak with a 4° blade and then successfully sawing it with a 7° Turbo last week I might ditch the 4° blades.   ::)
