Got a quote for a 20' side opening container for storing lumber....$5800 + delivery.  😱
Apparently with not a lot of cargo coming from China they're in short supply.
Going to have to come with something else.

Sounds convenient but overpriced to me. JMHO. Good luck.

Just checked the Chuck Henry.com website, he is getting 6600 for a 1 trip 20' side door with one end door.  Chuck is the guy at Solomon Kansas and they have 40' containers stacked up high.

I came across a new side opening while searching for used. They were asking $6500 for it. I had thought about the same thing, kiln/lumber storage. But at the price, not at the time did i have the $$ for something like that. I wish a 40' was offered nowadays. Iv got tck that i need to start taking apart and a side opening would be much easier for some of the parts.

Find another supplier. I paid $3,100 delivered for a  2018, 40' high cube, insulated container complete with the working cooler still on it three weeks ago. The ports are slammed full of containers.

Just checked Chuck's web site, he has a 40' high cube reefer in KC for 3850, plain steel used 40' containers for 1850 in KC, Solomon 2500.  Hi cube 40' used for 2000 KC 2600 Solomon KS.

Side opening doors are what I was after so I could load bundles without hand work.

WV Sawmiller

Side opening doors are obviously going to cost more but are they worth more than doubling the cost? How much would it cost you to fabricate your own side opening doors?

I would rather build a trolley and track for an end-opening container than wrestle with the door system on a side loader.

The side doors I've seen operate quite easily.
I may have to just build racks to go down each side of my end-loading container.
.....Now if I can just get it back from my woman who has it packed full of stuff.

sealark37

It might be easier for you to buy another container!

bushhog920

Bought a hc40' reefer for $4800 from Savannah GA. Guy said 20' sell for more because of demand.

The bigger ones are cheaper in my area as well. I guess it is due to demand. You have to have plenty of space for the bigger ones! Im not familiar with the side doors but it seems that sure would be easier to deal with.  Brian
Opportunity is missed by most because it shows up wearing bib overalls and looks like work.
