Looking for some clarification on what Ford front axles will fit my Forwarder. Broke a right front axle shaft and housing, searching for a replacement. I was told the 5000 series to 7000 series Ford tractor rear axle housing will fit. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Ford/ New Holland and now CaseNewHolland (CNH) change their part numbers from time to time and there are often parts numbers that do not match between paper parts manuals, official online parts manuals and third party parts manuals. (just to confuse everyone)

E9NN4012CB shows up as a 40 series tractor part?? Usual idea is to measure all the dimensions of the housings/ photograph them etc and measure up the internal parts as well.

New Holland (8340) - 6 CYL AG TRACTOR 40 SERIES (11/91-7/98) Parts Diagrams   (messicks online for 8340, rear axle etc diagram part 28 etc has different numbers in the current housing part code/ numbers showing)?          two current parts numbers?  81871490   &

81871488

That's too bad. I hope the search and repair will be short.

I JB welded the front case on my 03 Dodge 3500 transfer case. It must've developed a crack when my front driveshaft had a u-joint fail. So the jb is holding my lube in😁

Found a housing and a shaft at a tractor salvage yard out of Missouri, hope to have them for the weekend.

Bootheel? They always treated us OK. Parts are as described, and I'd recommend them anytime.

Seen a lot of those housings fail. Is the rear axle housing a different beast. Glad you found the goods.
In two days from now, tomorrow will be yesterday.

Wrenchman

Yes, the rear axle is made by someone else (can't remember who), but it's not Ford.

My 5550 iron mule looks the same and it shares the same parts as a ford A62 wheel loader. Can I ask how that broke?

Firewoodjoe

Wow I just noticed this thread is from 2018!

mike_belben

My forktruck has A62 axles and ive got a parts breakdown if anyone needs info on it.  Nassco in alabama may have parts.
