I currently have a good set of ice pick style chains for a tractor with 18-4-38 tires. Can I simply cut these down in length to fit my skidders 18-4-26. My thought is I could always weld the cut links back or replace with shackles. Thanks in advance.

Lay them on, see where they fit to match and clip the section out you dont need 🤷‍♂️ yes you could always just shackle it back in.

Tire chains, a cutting torch and some shackles you can make it work😁

They'll work :) :)  I shortened up a pair of chains for 18.4X26 tractor tires to fit 20.5X25 loader tires ;D :) ;)  I took two cross chains out of each chain and some side chain.  Spare parts ;) :)

Thanks very much for the reply's and advice. The chains were at another farm so not handy to check. Went and picked them up brought the chain tool and the cut off saw. Raised the front wheels and got them put on. Made a huge difference, skidded walnut all day. Thanks again would post a pic but not sure if it will work on an iPhone.
