I appreciate all the feedbacks and suggestions. After reading your responses, i think i will look into the Honda Ranchers and Ricons or the Yamaha models mentioned. As a kid, always had Yamaha and Honda dirt bikes and loved them both. Never had and ATV or ever had the opportunity to ride one, so this should be and adventure.

I've owned two ATVs, a Honda and a Yamaha, both are now over 20 years old and both are still going.

I find the side by sides a lot handier than the straddle machines, the bed in back holds a lot of tools, and the seat is much better.  Your wife or help can ride better in their own seat than behind you.  My old hips slip out of place on side slopes on the straddle seat. My new one is a Polaris 570, can't really comment on the thing, need to use it for a while first. It is my first one with doors to close in winter, plan to just put them inside till next winter, whenever they show up.  Back ordered till April now they tell me.

Honda Power Equipment is hard to beat 8) 8)  Can Ams are great performance wise but we've found them to be soft in other areas.  Build brush mat trails :) :)

I have a 99 Polaris Sprtsman 500 I bought new, at the time they were the only outfit with the independent rear. The ergonomics and ride quality were so much better than anything else at the time, they didn't even compare. I was well aware of Polaris' poor reputation for quality, my intention was to buy a new Honda or Yamaha as soon as they came out with a comparable machine because they were built so much better. Well, here I am 22 years later still riding that thing, it's just never given me any trouble🤷🏽‍♂️ My Dad had a couple Honda Foreman ES450's, they weren't even enjoyable to ride. Little skinny hard seat and ROUGH riding. I don't doubt they would be a tougher machine if you are truly abusing them I've worked mine pretty hard and it's still ready for more.
Don't count out Polaris. When you read review after review, year after year of Shootouts in the nasty and crazy trails Polaris is always at the top. When I had a Yamaha Grizzly years ago and went to a Polaris it was a night and day difference
