Another warm, sticky day coming,90's. Temps and the sticky stuff have not been all that bad this year. I don't think it has been 75° at day break at all this summer. Had about 3-4 days in a row of the warm weather.

Yeah it's gonna be a hot one here too, and humid. I'm so close to being done on this field I just want it done and start splitting the wood already!

S.NH really got a miss from Henri, we got good amount of rain, but no major winds.  Figure I am counting our blessings as the garden is coming in nicely, and I haven't had to water it at all this year.  But doing any major outdoor projects has been a PITA with the intermittent rain.

HemlockKing

Missed us too, got some good rain from it though, still another 2 months to go for hurricane season though, hoping matures gives my area a break for a few years as we get hit a lot

Got some heavy rain yesterday which, if the past several months are any indication, mean we'll likely be hot and parched within a week.

We've had a handful of 70-72F here in the early mornings. This morning was 70F and got up to 85F awhile ago, but probably 90F by now. By 1:30 I had almost 2 acres of plantation cut and could barely lift my feet. :D A lot of raspberry bushes and who ever prepped the site for planting really trashed the place, deep ruts to climb through all day long. Saw hitting in mud mounds, to keep nice and dull. It was an old field, I see no need to tear the land all up to plant a spruce tree.  ::)

SUPER HOT. good thing I had planned to do a lot of driving hauling storage stuff today. I'd probably faint if I was trying to run a saw today. 93 here off my porch but just 5 min towards ocean drops to 85 lol

87F right now. We are going to have a big dip in temps tonight and the rain off the front is suppose to stay north of us. Calling for a high of barely 70 for 2 days, Friday and Saturday, then heat front moving in again Sunday.

Cut about the same as yesterday, 1-3/4 acres and finished at 2:00. Thicker hardwood at the back and a big hill on a small section. Got'r done anyway. ;D

Yeah I wish I could sweep a acre a day lol . In the young spruce and balsam I can but I'm more often than not dealing with beetle/mistletoe/hurricane damaged mess. Probably 1/4 acre if I run myself to the ground. That's with everything diced up and cut into rounds

Was 63F this morning at 5:00 am, and it's never budged since, a north wind has come up. ;D

We still got heat warning today. Not as hot as yesterday but still expecting 85+ . Tomorrow and thereafter looks to stay under 70-75 . It's welcomed. If it could stay in the 55-70 range that would be great

It was 45 * this morning with the North wind.
90* yesterday.

SwampDonkey

Yesterday's high was 68F. A little bit ago it was 52F, but I suspect it will dip to 48F by day break. ;D No wind, dead calm. Have not mowed the lawn for 3 weeks it seems, time for a little haircut today, she's looking a little rustic. :D

I see rain streaming across southern Maine and missing us all together. All they ever call for up here is chance of showers. They said clouding up here for today as I look out and see a starry sky and moon shining on steel roofs. ;D 48F or there abouts this morning. I think it was a little colder up at the woodlot yesterday, I had gloves on, hands was cold, and was in the woods at 6:30 am for my weekly check on things. Seen where cow and calve moose spent the night along the road in the weeds. Just missed them I guess. ;D

A skunk was digging and scratching on the lawn right along with my cousin's chickens at 6:00 am. Those with the most grubs wins. :D

Broke into sun and high pressure.  Right around 6 inches of rain over the weekend.

That has been the entire story, not just for this year but last too.  Plenty of rain....if all you do is look at totals.  But most of the time, the soil is baked and dry and this will go on for days or even weeks.  Then a big glug of rain.  It is not ideal for plant life.

1.75" of rain over the weekend and now some cooler temps. Even with that rain there isn't a puddle to be found, the dirt is powder dry.

Clearing some fenceline and I'm able to drive right thru a swale complete with dieing cattails. Digging stumps and there is no moisture in the ground.

Old Greenhorn

We got over 4" of rain from that storm but it's clear this morning and cool. Only 57° at 7am. I hope it will trend toward drier weather form the next several weeks, I have a lot of work to do.

3.9 inches of rain yesterday and last night. I guess I'll let the ground drain a couple of days before I go back into the woods.
