One year there was 3 of us getting firewood here.
Boy we found some ground hornets with trees!!! I forgot how many we got into, 10-15. We all got stung many times.
My Father drove the tractor so he made out very well for a while and said they are just trying to be friendly.  ;D  ::)
They were friendly to him too when he run a nest over with the tractor. We all watched him bale off the tractor, hat just a swinging and him swearing. Of course we all said, they are just being friendly.
The worse part was, we were running a chainsaw and have no idea the tree had fell on a nest until they started to get friendly. I remember more than one a brother running, and the chainsaw was left by the tree running too.

Listen, or your tongue will make you deaf.

Skunks getting stung is why they dont flinch when you insert a needle in their chest with acetone and inject it.  in a bit they roll over and play dead.  Of course I have the needle mounted to a three foot stick so I dont have to get real close.  Just move slooow and talk to them to calm them down.  You may think I am nuts but that is the truth.  Also if you have one  in a cage trap again move slow and put a blanket over the trap and you can take the trap and move it wherever you want,  normally I just crop it into a ditch or barrel of water.

Pretty sure while I was spraying and praying my wife heard my saying "This is my town! If you live to see the dawn, it's because I allow it! I'm in charge of everything! I decide who lives or who dies!"    :D  :D

About 20 years ago I had a bulldozer for doing forestry work. I learned that it will not out run yellow jackets. Apparently when I built the cage to keep limbs from hitting me I didn't put any exit point for the yellow jackets. They could come in no problem but couldn't figure out how to leave.
