I removed the guide wheels and driven wheel on my mill this fall when i shut it down as I want to replace all the bearings. I believe that I am good to go by not reinstalling the lower wheels as they are not available on the WoodMizer site. Can anyone confirm that?

Also, how do the pillow block bearings come off on the driven wheel?  I haven't looked real close but didn't see a C clip or anything. I will have to outsource the bearings as WM doesn't offer the originals either, just an upgrade to a bigger shaft with the hydraulic tensioner.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an '83 LT30. We had to change the drive side bearings in 2017. They are pressed on. WoodMizer will get you the parts even if they don't have them in stock which they probably don't.
That job is a real chore. Re-alignment took a long time of trial and error.

Crossroads

When I did the bears on my 84, the pillow block was drilled and pinned. I bought new bearings, but ended up taking the new bearings out of the pillow block and installing them in the old blocks. I believe you can buy just the bearings from motion industries.  If I remember correctly, the old ones came off kinda hard, but the new ones went on easy after cleaning the shaft.

I would suggest you stick with Wood-Mizer, but if you have to outsource, these people may be able to help you!

On the blade guide upper wheels it looks like i was supposed to have a spacer between the bearings to be able to get grease in there.  I had grease in the bearings but no spacer.

Also, any comments on removing the lower blade guide wheels?

According to the Wood-Mizer Parts Manual
                      1982 LT30    Rev. A-N
                      1982 LT40    Rev. A-Q
The bottom blade guide rollers are obsolete per section 2.2 and 2.3.
Wood-Mizer will send you that parts breakdown manual via e-mail if you ask. I would highly recommend you get that.
I don't know how long you've had your mill, but Wood-Mizer is VERY GOOD at taking care of your parts and technical needs. The only problem is that the guys that were around when these mills were built are retiring or dying.  :'( They knew them inside and out and all the little tricks. Still, the guys that are there now will do their level best to help you out.
