OK Guys, at least I now know who my friends are.  :D

I am back at home so maybe I can sorta tell how this unexpected episode unfolded:  A couple of months ago I had an instance when my lower gut hurt but it went away so I dismissed it.  There was no looseness in the BM which sorta surprised me ??

Monday I got home about 1:00 and fixed myself a plate for lunch; small helping of white beans, small helping of black eyed peas, half of a baked sweet potato, slice of ham, and slice of cornbread.  I named it all off to sorta follow my thought process.  This was a very small plate of lunch.  About 2:30 I got a fairly fierce pain across my abdomen and my thought was that the beans, peas, & tater were having a conflict and making gas.  I drank a good slug of Coke hoping to make enough bubbles to burp it up.  Nothing happened so I sent a Rolaid down there with some water.  Still no burp but the pain was getting less.

Tuesday the pain was still there if I pushed in and nothing changed much during the day.

Wednesday it was still there so I called for a Dr appointment.  He suspected diverticulitis, but said that it could be appendix or even gall bladder.  The first CT scan that was available was Friday morning.  Friday afternoon the Radiologist called and said that I had acute appendicitis and to go to the hospital ER.  The Surgeon and Anesthesiologists came in to discuss surgery and when I told  Anesthesiologists that I had eaten lunch he immediately said it had to be 8 hours so the surgery was scheduled for Saturday.  The Surgeon was shocked at my age!

The surgery went well but the appendix was a story of it's own.  That thing had been growing unattended for 79½ years.   :o

The entire appendix should be small and smooth skinned as seen attached to the instrument above.

Mine was huge and had grown quite lumpy in it's old age.  The surgeon had to enlarge his belly button incision in order to drag it out.  It is also probably 4-5 times longer than it should have been.  :o  It has been sent to pathology.

I am sore big time and the Dr said nothing for 2 weeks and then he would discuss what I could do later.  I'll sent a text to my customers and discuss February-March.

That settles it - there are worse sights than Lynn's feet. :D

Glad you are home and hoping for a speedy recovery. ;)

Well, I am sure glad to hear from you and most glad there were no complications beyond that 'thing' trying to grow into some alien lifeform. Pretty spooky if you ask me. Just heal up and follow orders which we know you can do. I really didn't expect photos but you do seem to be pretty proud of your body parts whether they are on the inside or the outside or on the side where they don't belong.
 Be well my friend!

Which reminds me. I wish you guys would stop egging him on every time something like this happens. When are you going to figure out that he always rises to the occasion and outdoes whatever it was he done did before?
You can't beat the guy at a game he invented and spent between 7 and 8 decades perfecting. Geez, just admit defeat already.

I had that mouse scroll full bore wide open when I saw those pictures!!!  :o
No way I could look at that. Someone would be picking me up off the floor. Brenda with 2 bad knees and a thumb in a splint is no help at all.
Glad you are home.  :)
2 weeks of doing nothing is not too bad.

That is cool! And it was a whopper!  It probably still had some of those beans outgassing in there!  Not to mention you got a larger scar than normal to prove you are "extra ordinary."

I'm glad you're doing well, and as I always say, if it's worth doing, then it's worth over doing!

I have reconsidered mounting and have decided to QS it and hand it out as door prizes at Jake's event.  A species ID would also be interesting.   ;D

Ugh, this is going downhill.........

My daughter had stomach pains on a trip 12 years ago with me. Took her to the ER, they said it was a UTI, gave her antibiotics and pain meds. Two days later, back to the ER, appendix had ruptured. Immediate surgery, a few days in intensive care, then a couple weeks to recover.

Glad yours was not as severe! Get well soon!

Good to see you on the mend, Magic!

You guys are very lucky that I don't have the same exhibitionistic tendencies with my health issues. I could blackmail the whole Forum into sending me $$$ to not post pictures😁

Nice pics.  Glad the cause of all this has been located and removed.  Awaiting the path report, as I am sure you are as well.  Onward and upward, Lynn!

Onward and upward, Lynn!
Wouldn't that be downward and outward, considering the location and nature of the issue?? :D :D

Anyway, I also hope you feel better soon.

Jake,

If Miz Pat finds him showing off his scars to other "chicks" he is going to have a lot more problems than an appendicitis!  :D
