Have you ever seen one of these?  I've never seen one before, but apparently it was a thing.  I also saw an attachment to turn a chainsaw into a boat motor, but that's another subject.

I have seen it but it didn't seem to be well received.

That looks pretty slick, is that something you picked up recently?  I've been casually shopping for a gas powered drill for years.  I had a chance to use one extensively building a bridge and again repairing another.  I'm not afraid of a project but it's not something that I really need either, if it was, like the two bridge jobs, I'd rent again or buy new.

A quick search found this company and they have several different chainsaw attachments, many less expensive than I would have guessed so either a good deal or questionable quality.

That is cool, thanks for sharing the photo.  Did you buy it?  Can it take different size wood bits?  Four sided chuck?

I saw it for sale, but didn't buy it.
Yeti, that site has a boat motor attachment too.  Lol.

I saw that, seems they've got a little bit of everything, though I didn't see a pressure washer or generator attachment.

Never have seen a chain saw drill attachment. Help a guy years ago put some new farm gates in his pasture and he had a gas power drill. It was a nice machine. Now days I just use the cordless drills to do gates.

Never seen that before, but I knew that Jobu had an outboard driven by a chainsaw engine.

Before battery drills became what they are, maple syrup folks used gas drills all the time. @celliot may have experience with them.
We used the other kind of cordless drill -
the brace and bit.

In the '50's and '60's there were many trees tapped with a chainsaw driven drill bit.
There were some using 2 cycle gas motors with a chuck.  These were called tapping machines.  Like a chainsaw they were pull start and finikey.

Maple syrup guys around here use a really simple attachment that screws on the crank in place of the clutch and just goes to a shaft coupler holding a drill bit.  I've seen them in use, and they pop up on craigslist from time to time.   They don't really modify the saws besides just taking the bar cover off.
