I have my game cams set to take 10 second videos. I used to be able to open a video and scroll to the next one without having to close the one I was viewing and go back to the folder to open the next one. I suddenly can no longer do this. Any ideas how to get back like it was?

Similar thing happened to me when upgrading to Win 11 from 10.

Now, with the files opened in File Explorer, then right click on the first game cam file, then you might see "Open with" and select "Movies & TV", rather than "Open". I think you want to end up in "Movies & TV" to scroll through your files.
That is how I can then view my trail camera videos one after the other. Win 10, I could just right click on the first file and it opened up in "Movies & TV" straight away.
Hope this screen shot of a trail camera file shows how I do it. Hopefully that is the hurdle you are trying to get over. (maybe not, too)

Adding to what Beenthere posted, once you work out what program you want to open your files, the default can be changed via "Settings - Apps - Default Apps - Choose default apps by file type".

To find the file type (it's hidden by default), right click on a video file and select "properties". It will show the full file name, with a "." and some suffix after it, like "mp4" or similar.

Then you go down the list of file types in the Default Apps section, and change that file type to open with the program you want to use.

As @Ianab noted, you want to set a file association in Windows.  Sometimes these settings are lost when other installation/upgrade programs mess with them.

If Ianabs instructions don't apply to your version of windows, you can follow the instructions in this link for your version of windows to link that program with a file extension.

Yeah, that applies to Win 10. I don't have a PC new enough to run 11.  :-[

It's kind of frustrating how Windows has both been "simplified" (you don't need to know the file extension, so lets hide it by default) and made more complicated at the same time. You can still change the file associations, but you have to dig into some depth to find where the settings are.

As far as I know I still have windows 10. It might have auto updated to 11.

Thank you. Opening it with movies and tv did the trick.

Sometimes a software update changes settings to. I had one update in Firefox that switched from 'open with' to 'save as' recently. I thought I lost the ability to open a file into an app when clicking a web link. Had to do some digging, was a simple point and click fix.
