Well guys, I need a bit of luck and probably some prayers, but my LT 50 came in......after 2 months.......

SO, hadn't told the significant other about it, as I thought I had  18-24 months to save up, sell my LT 35, and figure out how to approach/broach the subject with her.   Uhhhh, hmmm.  Apparently someone ordered it and then declined to pick it up.  So I'm next in line.  They have been wonderful taking care of me, and told me I could continue to stay on the waiting list if I can't make it work now, so nothing but good things to say about my local WM dealer, but I'm afraid I'm gonna stir the hornets nest this weekend!!!

Wish me luck.  If things go poorly, been great knowing all you fine ladies and gentlemen!!! :D :D :D :D

Will let you know how it went next week...........

Good luck!  Hope it goes well!

Once you tell her and she's mad, go buy a new fishing rod.  She'll still be mad but you'll have a new sawmill and a new fishing rod!   :D :D

I don't know if you like living dangerously or are a fan of the no guts no glory club.
Apparently you can keep a secret.

You have to put a really big diamond in the control box or something, so when you show it to her the box holding it falls out.  That's the only chance you have of survival.

I had a friend who once gave me some advice about buying guns.  He said that wives did not know the difference between guns, but they could count.

Maybe that could work with a sawmill ??   ;)

You poor devil, good luck with that. :) That sawing bug bites hard. All the cattle pour on  and flea and tick products on your shelves  arent effective  against it.

Tell her you have to take the mill into WoodMizer for some work and bring the LT50 home. Maybe you could pass it off as an update to the LT35.

You should be able to knock out enough wood for a doghouse in no time at all.

I just checked, you can buy the decal kit for a 35.  Use a heat gun to remove the 50 decals and apply those before you bring it home, that might help to distract her long enough to see the box with the diamond in it.

Congrats on the new mill, you'll have a lot of fun with it for sure. As for the domestic front, I know it will be rough and you will miss her for a while but what else can you do? ;D

Jmoore and I were talking about this this (Tom) evening, and we determined that when we bought the Lt-50 instead of the Lt-40 (non-super) that we were also looking to buy, that we made the right choice.  We paid for it quickly with the lumber we produced.

I am thankful that my wife just occasionally asks, is this a good decision.  I tell her that I don't know but it will likely work out.  So far it has. No bucks, no Buck Rogers.
